Official version of the UN M49 classification of countries used in FAO, based on July 2019 Statistical Standard Series. The classification primarily provides a list of names of countries or areas, each with a unique three-digit numerical code to be used as a common reference for statistical processing purposes and as an international coding system to facilitate the standardization of country/area data processing, reporting and dissemination.
